This FAQ page is designed to answer all the common questions you might have about our soy wax candles, from how they’re made to how best to care for them.
Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource made from soybean oil. Unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum, soy wax is biodegradable and burns cleaner, producing less soot. This makes it a healthier option for indoor air quality and better for the environment.
Soy wax candles generally have a longer burn time than paraffin candles due to their lower melting point. On average, a well-made soy candle can burn for approximately 7-9 hours per ounce of wax. This makes them a cost-effective and long-lasting option for your home.
Soy wax candles are known for their subtle, consistent scent throw. While they may not be as overpowering as some other types of candles, they offer a pleasant fragrance that evenly fills a room, creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Soy wax candles are often recommended for individuals with allergies or asthma because they produce less soot and fewer airborne particles compared to paraffin candles. However, reactions can vary, so it’s best to start with a small burn time to see how you respond.
To ensure the best performance, trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use and allow the candle to burn long enough to melt the wax across the entire surface. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn, making your candle last longer.
